Junction City Local Aid was begun as an informal local community chest in 1945 by area churches and individuals. Today, Local Aid rents space in a downtown Junction City building, and shares offices with the local branch office of the state's Department of Human Resources. One part-time paid employee, Executive Director Susan Jones, operates Local Aid with the assistance of many, many volunteers and the oversight of a volunteer Board of Directors.
Local Aid is a United Way agency, a partner food bank of FOOD for Lane County, and a member of the Junction City/Harrisburg Chamber of Commerce.
