The KVAL Can-Do food drive and fund-raising contest netted 385 pounds of food donated to barrels at Les Schwab and Guaranty Motors. Another $132 was donated by Guaranty and Guaranty employees. The fund-raising challenge between AA Automotive and Dave Zech State Farm Insurance garnered a total of $806, with the AA Automotive team collecting the most money from local businesses. Thanks, everyone who participated!
Junction City Local Aid recently received Oregon Food Bank Network Support Funds for the purchase of a new computer and accessories. This will allow JCLA to adjust to the new FOOD for Lane County online ordering system, and stay in compliance with volunteer training requirements. Thank you, Oregon Food Bank, for your generosity!
We would also like to thank the Junction City Safeway store for collecting 3,179 pounds of food through customer purchases of $10 food bags, and Curves for donating 366 pounds of food. The support of these businesses and their generous customers is much appreciated.

Junction City Local Aid provides assistance in the form of food, clothing, utility bill support, prescription drug assistance and related services to low-income individuals and families in the Junction City, Oregon area. We focus on meeting the needs of people in short-term crises, assisting them while they get back on their feet.
We operate as a food pantry to provide emergency food boxes and staple food items. We can also assist with past-due utility bills, vouchers for prescription medication and bus tokens, and we have available free used clothing and blankets.
Food and other assistance is provided to residents of the Junction City School District who meet income guidelines. Come by our office during business hours to talk to us or fill out an application.
In 2011, Local Aid provided emergency food boxes to more than 2,300 residents of the Junction City School District, living in 760 households, a 16% increase over 2010. More than 90 volunteers donated 3,694 hours of their time to serving Local Aid and our clients in 2011.
